Nitrofix Inoculant

A peat based inoculant (Malawian product) containing live culture of Nitrogen fixing Rhizobium bacteria. It impacts on productivity in legumes due to its ability to convert Nitrogen in the air for crop use.

• Available in 50g sachets.
• Coats 10-15kgs of seed.
• Made in Malawi

• Dissolve two level match boxes of sugar in 400mls of water (Water enough to fill to the shoulders of two empty bottles of fanta or coke
• Empty the contents of the sachet of Inoculant (50g) into the sugar solution and mix well to form a paste (slurry)
• Measure 10 - 15kgs of groundnut seed into a container (basin)
• Pour the Inoculant paste (slurry) into the basin containing the measured groundnut seed and mix thoroughly until the seed is coated.
• Spread the Inoculant coated seed on mat under the shed to dry, away from direct sunlight for 30 minutes to avoid killing the rhizobia or bacteria.
• Plant the treated seed in soil that has had soaking rains within 48hrs.
• Only treat an amount of seed that can be planted the same day.
